Celeste Ashira

Celeste Ashira has been dancing since she was a little girl. She is trained in different dances such as Argentinean folk dances, tap , tango , samba and salsa and has performed in Argentinean samba carnivals. In 2001 she fell in love with belly dance and trained for 4 years with Florencia Lima, Zafrah and Zahira Nahid. In 2007 Ashira was part of Zahira Nahid’s professional troupe “Ballet Salamat”. Ashira is influenced by Latin-American rhythms and is deeply inspired by Saida. When she moved to Canada in 2008 Ashira became a teacher for Hannan's Bellydance Studio and a member of the Rhythm of the Nile Dance Company for a year. Ashira is currently teaching classes at Pulse Dance Works in Markham and at Queen & Parliament with Anuka.
